Hello!
I have also had the pleasure of serving on the SCAA’s board of directors for five years, most recently as its 1st Vice President, where I was able to play a role in advocacy at the state and federal levels, guide strategic planning for the organization, and become familiar with many of our South Carolina communities and how the arts have impacted them.
As we turn to a new chapter in the SCAA’s illustrious history, it is imperative that I thank Betty Plumb for her 27 years of service with the organization. Her leadership in the state and the nation has kept the arts thriving in South Carolina.
Betty and I have been working hard since July 1. Betty will be officially retiring on September 1, allowing us to have some much needed time to transition and get the organization up and running in a new location.
After over 15 years of being located in the Gettys Center in Rock Hill, managed by the Arts Council of York County, the South Carolina Arts Alliance office is moving to the Younts Center for the Performing Arts in Fountain Inn! The move to the Younts Center has some special meaning to me personally. I interned during the Center’s early years and helped them establish some programs still in existence today. Fountain Inn is also the city which I call home, and a city that has embraced the arts as a tool for community development.
Below you will find our new contact information – address, phone, and email. Be sure to change your records to reflect these changes! We will be out of our Rock Hill office by July 20.
I can’t wait to meet all of you!
