While artists and organizations are busy making sure their programs are safe for staff, audiences, and the general public, the SCAA is busy monitoring all advocacy work around COVID-19 to ensure that the creative industry has a voice. Our staff is in communication with our peers in other states and also national organizations, receiving constant updates on how other states are addressing needs, and how we can take action here in South Carolina.

For a list of resources related to COVID-19 specifically for arts groups, see our post on how to make sure you’re answering all the right questions, and visit the SC Arts Commission’s dedicated webpage.

Below are ways in which you can help the SCAA advocate for our industry at this time (more to come as issues develop). Click on each to take action.

Below are other areas which the SCAA is monitoring to identify ways that the arts can be best represented.

  • Economic Impact on the field
  • Unemployment benefits
  • Federal aid packages
  • Education Policies
  • State budget adjustments
  • Performance contracts / insurance
  • Funder grant policy changes
