$615,000 Increase Remains

The full Senate adopted their version of the state’s budget last week. It includes a $615,000 increase for the arts, while the House version includes an $865,000 increase.

Next Steps: The budget now heads to a Conference Committee made up of three House and three Senate members who will work out the differences between the two versions of the budget and then each body will vote on that final version before heading to the Governor for potential vetoes. The Conference Committee has not been appointed as of writing. The last day of Session is set for May 10 – though they can go longer if needed.

Action: Once the Committee is appointed, we will issue an alert with ways you can take action to encourage the Committee to adopt the House version of the arts budget. Stay tuned.
