The creative industry in South Carolina supports over 123,000 jobs and provides over $14.1billion to our state’s economy. The primary tool the state has to support this important part of our economy is through competitive grants to arts organizations. Additional funding to the SCAC would provide stable and meaningful support for current grantees and new grantees alike. It would also ensure that valuable resources are accessible to every community in our state, especially those in our most rural areas.

The South Carolina Arts Commission supports a variety of arts education programs across the State during both in-school and out-of school time., ensuring all students in South Carolina have equitable access to learning in and through the arts. Additional funding will help sustain and expand this arts learning work, with a focus on professional development for arts and non-arts teachers, kindergarten readiness, and college-and-career readiness.
